Being No One (Ser Ningú) retraces the journey of Odysseus, following the route that Odysseus himself describes in the Odyssey. The poem presents an image of the Mediterranean as it was—and as it was imagined—2,700 years ago: a sea without religious, national or linguistic borders, where the northern and southern shores shared a common cultural unity, and where the heroes of epic tales perfectly embodied the values of a community that, in turn, recognised itself in them.
Taking this first image as a reference, Being No One retraces Odysseus’ path. Over the course of three and a half years, Borja Bagunyà and Aleix Plademunt have followed Odysseus’ return journey across the Mediterranean, from Hisarlik, Turkey, to Corfu, passing through Djerba, Messina, Lipari, Capri, Kythera, Belyounech and Ceuta, among others. They have followed his drift and composed a verbal and photographic chronicle—a textovisual record.
This chronicle brings together text and image. Being No One offers a second image to Homer’s first, in order to examine the transformations of the Mediterranean world that the Homeric poem helped to found.
The research process on Homer’s text and its contemporary readings has included contributions from Marina Garcés, Mabel Tapia, Aida Míguez, and Miquel Bassols.

Ser Ningú refà el viatge d’Odisseu, segons el recorregut que Odisseu mateix descriu a l’Odissea. El poema presenta una imatge del Mediterrani tal com era, i com s’imaginava, fa 2.700 anys, és a dir, com un mar sense fronteres religioses, nacionals ni lingüístiques, on les costes del nord i les del sud participaven d’una mateixa unitat cultural i on els herois de les gestes encarnaven a la perfecció els valors d’una comunitat que, al seu torn, s’hi reconeixia.
Prenent com a referència aquesta primera imatge, Ser Ningú refà el camí d’Odisseu. Durant tres anys i mig, Borja Bagunyà i Aleix Plademunt hem seguit el viatge de retorn d’Odisseu per tota la Mediterrània, des d’Hisarlik, Turquia, fins a Corfú, passant per Djerba, Messina, Lipari, Capri, Cítera, Belyounech i Ceuta, entre d’altres. N'hem seguit la deriva i n’hem escrit una crònica verbal i fotogràfica –textovisual—.
Aquesta crònica combina text i imatge. Ser Ningú proposa una segona imatge a la primera d’Homer per tal d’examinar les transformacions del món de la Mediterrània que el poema homèric va contribuir a fundar.
Han participat en el procés d’investigació sobre el text d’Homer i les seves lectures contemporànies Marina Garcés, Mabel Tapia, Aida Míguez i Miquel Bassols.

Ser Nadie rehace el viaje de Odiseo, siguiendo el recorrido que el propio Odiseo describe en la Odisea. El poema presenta una imagen del Mediterráneo tal como era —y como se imaginaba— hace 2.700 años: un mar sin fronteras religiosas, nacionales ni lingüísticas, donde las costas del norte y del sur compartían una misma unidad cultural, y donde los héroes de las gestas encarnaban a la perfección los valores de una comunidad que, a su vez, se reconocía en ellos.
Tomando como referencia esta primera imagen, Ser Nadie recompone el camino de Odiseo. Durante tres años y medio, Borja Bagunyà y Aleix Plademunt hemos seguido el viaje de regreso de Odiseo por todo el Mediterráneo, desde Hisarlik, Turquía, hasta Corfú, pasando por Djerba, Mesina, Lípari, Capri, Citera, Belyounech y Ceuta, entre otros lugares. Hemos seguido su deriva y escrito una crónica verbal y fotográfica —textovisual—.
Esta crónica combina texto e imagen. Ser Nadie propone una segunda imagen a la primera de Homero, con el fin de examinar las transformaciones del mundo mediterráneo que el poema homérico contribuyó a fundar.
En el proceso de investigación sobre el texto de Homero y sus lecturas contemporáneas han participado Marina Garcés, Mabel Tapia, Aida Míguez y Miquel Bassols.

Ser Ningú is an installation that emerged from the collaboration between photographer Aleix Plademunt and writer Borja Bagunyà, with music by Tarta Relena. The installation is part of a larger project that retraces Odysseus’ journey across the contemporary Mediterranean.
